DSIIDC has recently sent out a list of 51,837 industries, operating from non-conforming/residential areas, to the three corporations. These industries, which should never have come up in the first place, have been operating from these areas without any licence for decades now. However, according to the corporation’s list, the number of industries operating from residential areas is about 32,541—11,805 under east corporation, 11,214 under north corporation and 10,023 under south corporation.
Of the total 10,023 illegal industries, 1,868 fall in the central zone, 800 in south, 828 in Najafgarh and 6,527 in the west zone. “We have surveyed 226 industries in central zone, 222 in south, 242 in west and 20 in Najafgarh. The survey is still going on and we will issue notices to all industries running illegally by October-end,” said a senior official.
The owners have been told to vacate the premises in a time-bound manner. “The 112 industries have been issued notices, and once they clear the premises, we will start sealing,” said the senior official.
